Take part in the #LoveSaskFood Contest to win Free Groceries or a BBQ!

Jun-27-2017

(SASKATOON, SK) Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan (FFC SK) is holding an online contest to celebrate 150 years of Canadian food and farming by helping people put a face on some of Saskatchewan's farmers and ranchers. You'll find information on the contest in your shopping bags if you visit at any Co-op grocery location in Saskatchewan this July. These postcards feature local food products and the Saskatchewan farmers, ranchers and families who grow them.

You can enter by visiting LoveSaskFood.org and completing the short questionnaire for a chance to win one of three Co-op gift cards, valued at $500, $300, or $200, donated by Federated Cooperatives Ltd., or a Traeger Pro 22 Grill and wood pellets donated by Horizon Fertilizer in Humboldt, SK.

The contest will run from June 30th through to August 5th which is Food Day Canada, a national celebration of our Northern bounty. Visit fooddaycanada.ca for more details and to see how you can participate.

FFC SK is a non-profit organization that seeks to build confidence in Saskatchewan food production - to let consumers know that the food we produce is healthy, safe and responsibly grown; that farmers and ranchers are innovative, technologically advanced and care deeply about the animals and land they work with. With less than 3% of Canadians having a direct link to the farm, it's no wonder that so many people want to know more about food and farming.

BACKGROUNDER
Today, less than 3% of Canadians have a direct connection to the farm, which is one reason why so many have questions about how their food is produced. Farm & Food Care runs several programs to help address these consumer questions and inspire more confidence in our farmers and in Saskatchewan-grown foods. To learn more, follow us online @FarmFoodCareSK or join us at an event such as the Chef's Series at Taste of Saskatchewan this summer. Or let us put you in touch with a farmer so you can ask them directly about the food on your table!
