At Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan, we take pride in our ability to engage with consumers on the facts about modern farming and ranching, but we know we can’t do it alone. One avenue that we’ve put considerable time and effort into is speaking to the future leaders, agriculture students.
During the next two months, Clinton Monchuk, Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan’s Executive Director, will be giving a total of eleven lectures to first, third- and fourth-year students at the College of Agriculture and Bioresources at the University of Saskatchewan. Hundreds of students will learn about the importance of speaking up about the agriculture industry and how they can build trust in food production, one conversation at a time.
These sessions with students allow us to answer questions students may have about different areas of agriculture, as well as to discuss how to tackle tough issues and connect with consumers through shared values.
These students will play an important role in the success of our industry. Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best, ‘We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build the youth for our future.’
If you, like our students, want to be more effective in your communications with consumers, check out Farm & Food Care’s online Speak Up training course.
