Celebrate Agriculture Month with Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan and Canadian Cattle Association on Wednesday, October 4 on the University of Saskatchewan campus. We’ll view the documentary film ‘Reduce, Reuse, Ruminate’ and then hear researchers and from local farmers about the ways agriculture can help reduce food waste in our country. Free beer and snacks included for the first 100 who register!

Clinton Monchuk
Executive Director at Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan
Clinton Monchuk grew up on a mixed dairy, beef and grain family farm in central Saskatchewan. Clinton still farms with his wife and children and extended family on a grain and egg farm in Saskatchewan and cattle ranch in Oklahoma. He is also the Executive Director of Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan whose mission is to help connect consumers with agriculture.

Alan Genest
VP Operations at Great Western Brewing Company
Allan is the Vice President of Operations at Great Western Brewing. Allan has been in the brewing industry for almost 20 years. He was born and raised in Harris, Saskatchewan and was active in the family farm there. He is also a journeyman electrician who worked in process and automation in the dairy industry for 14 years before joining Great Western Brewing. Allan obtained his Business Administration Certification from the University of Saskatchewan in 2007.
Jenna Sarich
Canadian Cattle Association
Jenna is a Technical Research Consultant and writer with the Canadian Cattle Association. She also is writing the National Beef Sustainability Assessment report for Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. Her job is to seek, track and analyze research relevant to the beef industry and disseminate the information into key messages for stakeholders. Jenna recently defended her master’s thesis at the University of Saskatchewan.
Marcel Vermette
Rancher, Farmer, Stock Dog Trainer
Marcel and his wife Jolie have a cattle ranch near Outlook, SK, where they also raise several types of vegetables and other crops. In addition, the Vermettes run Rafter V Ranch Dog, where they train border collies and English pocket beagles as stock dogs to help ranchers herd their cattle. The cattle on their ranch often eat ‘imperfect’ crops that can’t be sold into the human food market.
