Similar to the Food Influencers Program, this initiative focuses on students in fields likely to have influence on food choices in the future (culinary students and dietitian students).
The program includes a one-day farm tour for students from the University of Saskatchewan’s Nutrition Program as well as Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Culinary Arts Program. Past tour stops have included a grain farm, a cattle ranch and a dairy. Farmers show students the equipment they use, how they care for their animals and keep their land sustainable for future generations.
FFC SK facilitates additional lectures, presentations, forums and other outreach events at other times of the year.
