Agriculture education for school-aged kids in our province is primarily served through our partners at Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan. Our Student Program focuses on post-secondary students in fields likely to have influence on food choices in the future, such as culinary students, dietitian students and future teachers.
The program includes online learning, class lectures and presentations from farmers and others in the agriculture sector, along with a one-day farm tour for students. Farmers show students the equipment they use, the standards they must meet, how they care for their animals and how they keep their land sustainable for future generations. For many students, this will be their first opportunity to visit a farm and speak directly with farmers and ranchers.
