Canadian Western Agribition is Canada’s largest livestock show and last year, saw a record attendance of more than 140,000. Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan was pleased to team up with Saskatchewan 4-H to host an exhibit at Agribition in Regina November 25-30 this year.
FFC SK showcased the virtual farm tours from FarmFood360, showing school kids and consumers of all ages what it looked like inside a chicken barn, view a sheep farm, see how cattle are raised, find out where mushrooms grow, and many other kinds of Canadian farms.
We were pleased to offer an even better viewing experience to visitors this year: a new system with brand new virtual reality equipment and a screen that showed bystanders what viewers were seeing inside the headsets. Many thanks to our friends at Farm & Food Care Ontario for their leadership and help developing this improved experience!
Our staff were kept busy from show opening until close. Over the week, we hosted 1,692 viewers.
“It was awesome to be able to offer a farm experience to people who have never been to a farm before,” said Clinton Monchuk, FFC SK Executive Director. “We also enjoyed the opportunity to connect with so many of our member groups and learn how they are reaching consumers.”
