Global Biotech Week in Saskatchewan

Global Biotech Week celebrates science and biotechnology around the world and highlights Saskatchewan’s leading role in this area. Ag-West Bio is leading the charge in coordinating several events across the province.
Check out this year’s events:
- Saturday, September 19 – Nuit Blanche: Beautiful Science – come see the science exhibit at this nighttime arts festival in Saskatoon
- Monday, September 21 – Taste of Innovation Luncheon: kick off GBW where you will literally taste innovation! (Boffins, Saskatoon)
- Tuesday, September 22 – The Amazing Biotech Race: Bioscience students participate in lab challenges and learn about bioscience companies along the way (Innovation Saskatchewan, Saskatoon)
- Tuesday, September 22 – Cafe Scientifique: Geek out and learn from Dr. Hassan Vatanparast, a Professor of Nutritional Epidemiology (Winston’s Pub, Saskatoon)
- Wednesday, September 23 – Presentation about synchrotron technology addressing real-world challenges in agriculture, food processing, and plant biotechnology (Innovation Saskatchewan, Saskatoon)
- September 23 or 24 – Tour Canada’s only synchrotron research facility: see it for yourself (Canada Light Source, Saskatoon)
- Thursday, September 24 – Biotech at the Market: Taste ingredients made from brewer’s spent grain while enjoying drink and food (Gather Local Market, Saskatoon)
- Thursday, September 24 – Behind‑the‑scenes look at how the Food Centre is reshaping the future of food and agriculture (Saskatchewan Food Centre, Saskatoon)
