Don’t miss the conference that brings people together from across the agricultural spectrum and provides excellent opportunities for ag leaders to learn and share strategies for communicating with non-farming consumers! Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan is proud to be co-hosting the 2023 Ag Awareness Summit with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture to celebrate ten years of work to build public trust in our industry.
The reception on the evening of February 14, 2023 will offer attendees a fantastic opportunity to network with others, celebrate how far we’ve come in building public trust and discuss where we go next. We’ll also reveal this year’s winner of the Farm & Food Care Champion Award.
We have an incredible line-up of speakers for February 15, 2023.
- Tim McMillian, former CEO of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers will share his experience dealing with activists in Canada’s oil and gas industry. He’ll explore whether agriculture will be the next target for the international activist movement.
- Colin Angus is the first man to circumnavigate the planet through human power, by walking, biking, skiing and rowing more than 43,000 kilometers across three continents and two oceans. His experience surviving a hurricane with nothing more than a rowboat for shelter will inform his presentation on dealing with change and unexpected setbacks.
We’ll also offer three workshops where participants will gain strategies for improving communications with industry, consumers and policymakers:
- Toban Dyck, farmer and journalist, will lead “Politics, Profits, and the Environment: How Farmers Can Lead the Way.” How can your farm, business or commodity group utilize a ‘fix-it-ourselves’ attitude to adapt and thrive?
- Heather Thomson from Alberta School of Business Centre for Cities and Communities, will present a workshop on “Consumer Food Spending” to help participants learn about people’s spending habits and financial values related to food products.
- Travis Low, CEO from Blue Moose Media will present Top Tips to Market Your Business on Social Media in 2023. This session will offer tips for online content that engages your audience, planning and scheduling great posts, achieving strong visuals and driving results with targeted advertising.
Registration is $150 and includes access to the reception on Tuesday, February 14 as well as the day of conference presentations on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
The conference will be in-person only this year and will be held at the Delta Marriott Downtown Saskatoon.
