FFC SK and CFF staff meet with APAS Board of Directors

July 3, 2025

Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan and Canadian Food Focus were honoured to be invited to provide a presentation to the Agriculture Producers Association of Saskatchewan’s Board of Directors at their meeting in Fillmore in June 2025.

APAS, a non-partisan general farm organization, advocates on behalf of Saskatchewan agricultural producers to all levels of government and represents Saskatchewan as a member of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture. Since 2016, APAS has been a Partner member of Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan. APAS’ continued support over the years has enabled our work to build trust in agriculture, including the establishment of our national consumer engagement initiative (Canadian Food Focus); farm tours; presentations; online farming images; and training for communicators in the ag sector; among other programs.

The APAS Board was keen to learn more about how Canadian Food Focus is engaging with individual Canadians (more than 10 million last year!) and how hands-on learning activities like farm tours are making a difference with key influencer groups. We discussed Open Farm Days and speaking in the community as key opportunities to engage Saskatchewan consumers with their farmer neighbours.

APAS directors expressed continued interest and support for the important work to build public trust in agriculture, at both the provincial and federal level. Farm & Food Care and Canadian Food Focus thanked the Board for the opportunity to provide an update.

Please contact Pamela McDonald (pamela@farmfoodcaresk.org) if your organization is interested in booking a presentation for your organization’s board or general membership.
