Every October, agriculture takes center stage in Saskatchewan as the province celebrates Agriculture Week, an initiative led by Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan that brings together farmers, ranchers, industry stakeholders and consumers to share the story of food and farming. In the 2025 Agriculture Week campaign, held from October 5 to 11, Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan invited the province to join the conversation under the hashtag #CelebrateAg and featured a strong emphasis on digital engagement. The highlight this year was the #CelebrateAg online photo contest.
A Record‐Breaking Photo Contest
This year’s online photo contest captured the imagination of people across Saskatchewan, drawing in an impressive 409 entries including farm scenes, fields, livestock, and farm heritage. The submissions showcased the diversity and vitality of agriculture in Saskatchewan — from yellow canola fields before a storm to shared meals in the field with family.
The contest put agriculture’s contributions into the spotlight and engaged individuals who may not have direct contact with farming life. With participation from across Saskatchewan, the shared photos enabled those stories to be visible province-wide.
Themes and Impact
While events such as the keynote by Dr. Cami Ryan at Innovation Place in Saskatoon set the tone for in-person conversation, the online photo contest provided an accessible way for residents of Saskatchewan to participate in the celebration of agriculture.
As the entries were submitted, the contest gallery became a showcase of Saskatchewan’s agricultural strength, resilience and innovation. Whether capturing farm machinery in motion or hands in the soil, each image tells a story of the connection between the land, food production and community.

Looking Ahead
The call to #CelebrateAg doesn’t end when the week wraps up.
“Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan encourages everyone to carry the celebration forward by sharing our stories, by asking questions, by staying curious about where our food comes from and how our farming communities contribute to sustainability across the province,” shares Angela Larson, Communications Manager with Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan
The agriculture and food sectors are not just about inputs, outputs and production — they are about people, place and community. The #CelebrateAg Photo Contest helped amplify this message, making visible the everyday scenes of agriculture in Saskatchewan.
