Presented by Canadian Food Focus and Global Biotech Week in Saskatchewan

Join Sara Lui, a food scientist from the Saskatchewan Food Development Centre for a bread making demonstration! People across Canada are invited to tune in at 5PM CST (7PM in Ontario, 6PM in Winnipeg, 4PM in Vancouver) on Wednesday, September 27 to find out how yeast and gluten work their magic (their science) to make a delicious loaf of bread.

Sara will explain how yeast and gluten work their magic (science!) to make a delicious loaf of bread.

​Viewers will also take a behind-the-scenes peek at how wheat is grown and have the chance to win some cool prizes.

Meet Our Food Scientist

Sara Lui has been an integral member of the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre for more than 20 years. She has worked with businesses small and large to create over 900 new products. Her job is to come up with new ideas for food products, test ingredients, develop formulations and processing techniques and understand industry regulations. Sara specializes in developing plant-based foods and beverages.

Meet Our Host

Clinton Monchuk grew up on a mixed dairy, beef and grain family farm in central Saskatchewan. Clinton still farms with his wife and children and extended family on a grain and egg farm in Saskatchewan and cattle ranch in Oklahoma. He is also the Executive Director of Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan whose mission is to help connect consumers with agriculture.
