Professor David Hughes, also known as ‘Dr. Food’, gave a presentation on February 24 in which he contemplated the changes we can expect in grocery stores, restaurants and food distribution channels as a result of the pandemic.
Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan presented a live event on Canada’s Agriculture Day to help participants learn more about beef cows and how scientists are studying how cattle are raised.

More than 400 took part in Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan’s Cultivating Trust Conference on November 25. One of the presentations at the event was an overview of the past year from FFC SK’s Executive Director Clinton Monchuk.
Canadians looking to get behind the scenes and learn more about how their food is produced on family farms have three more opportunities available to them now at www.FarmFood360.ca. Three new Virtual Reality Tours filmed last summer on Ontario beef, chicken and turkey farms have been added to the popular website, joining the 15 farm and food processing tours already on the site.
Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan was pleased to welcome more than 400 registrants to their online Cultivating Trust conference on November 25.
“She is a leader in our farming community,” said Kim Hill of the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan, who were thrilled with Martinka’s selection this year. “Through sharing her farming experiences, it has brought a face to our producers and has provided a lot of support for other farmers to share their farming stories.”
This is the fifth edition published since the project’s inception in 2006. To date, 4.5 million copies have been distributed across Canada to libraries, doctors’ offices, Registered Dietitians, political leaders, educators and through inserts in national publications.
I’m a strong believer in the phrase, ‘no one wins in a food fight’. We can stand back and see how differences of opinions have set up walls between ideologically differing views, but no one stands to gain from these barriers.
Farm & Food Care recently took an active role in organizing the Food & Nutrition Forum at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair this fall. The event was held virtually this year and invited dietitians and others in the food industry to hear from a series of speakers about our food system.
Farm & Food Care’s own Clinton Monchuk was recognized recently by CropLife International as a Biotech Food Hero. The online project features “men and women that are securing food supplies for future generations”.
Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan will host its annual conference online this year on November 25, 2020, between 1PM and 4:30PM.
The Canadian Poultry Magazine profiled Clinton as part of their “Who’s Who in 2020” issue. It outlines the aviary, free-run egg farm that Clinton and his brother operate near Lanigan.
