In partnership with Indigenous chefs and cooks, Canadian Food Focus aims to showcase traditional foods from Indigenous cultures.

Farm & Food Care’s mission is to build public trust in farming and food. There are three such organizations in Canada: one in Prince Edward Island, one in Ontario and one in Saskatchewan. All three work to answer consumer questions and increase confidence in our food system and understanding of how farmers grow food.

Consumers in this country have increasingly been discussing sustainable production practices when it comes to the food industry. In a proactive approach, the food industry has joined forces with 126 different participants to establish the National Index on Agri-Food Performance.

As Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan looks to expand our consumer engagement to other areas of Canada through our Canadian Food Focus initiative, we have decided to partner with different groups and organizations.

On February 14 and 15, 2023, over 150 leaders in agriculture came together to learn and share strategies for communicating with non-farming consumers.

Saskatchewan’s Agriculture Month is right around the corner and here are a few details to get you planning how you will celebrate in October!

Through our farm tours, we are building the understanding that agriculture is working to be more sustainable and trust in this great industry grows.

Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan had the opportunity with our partners to speak to chefs from across the country in Saskatoon. This opportunity to speak to chefs included an agriculture panel discussion, a trade show exhibit and a farm tour.

Meals From the Farm in Saskatchewan schools was a great success in 2022. One teacher explained, “I think that together we are creating a crop of gardeners and farmers who know where their food comes from.”

On June 2, six schools in the province will have a hot lunch provided by Saskatchewan farmers.
